Chica, Chica Senorita
Finds a FURever Home
In Cuba, on a beautiful sandy beach, surrounded by clear blue water, stood a giant castle. People would come from far away to visit the castle and explore its surroundings. One day, when doing just that, a Canadian woman discovered a puppy outside of the fence lining the castle grounds. From the moment the two locked eyes, the woman knew the puppy was meant to be a part of her family.
Inspired by the author’s real-life experience, Chica, Chica, Señorita tells the story of a small dog’s triumphant journey across the sea to her furever home. The author hopes to inspire young readers and families to consider if rescuing or adopting an animal is right for them.
Debut author Cynthia Windsor was on vacation with her husband in Varadero, Cuba at the Iberostar Playa Almeda Resort, when she happened upon a little dog with a big heart and angel wings markings on her fur. She knew instantly that the little puppy was meant to be a part of her life. With the help of kind strangers and specialists in animal care and international adoption, Chica, Chica Señorita now lives a cherished life with her pawents in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
