Program Description

Event Details

Join visiting poet Elena Johnson for a nature poetry workshop. Beginner and experienced writers of all ages welcome. Participants will gather inspiration during a guided nature walk in the area, and write new poems based on the experience. The workshop includes a medium-paced, half-hour walk over varied terrain, with several breaks.

This event will take place rain or shine. In the case of extreme heat or severe air pollution, it will be moved indoors.

What to bring: If possible, bring your own paper or notebook, and a pen or pencil. (Extra writing supplies will also be available.) Dress for the weather and for the wilds – hat, sunglasses, raincoat if needed, and clothing that will keep you cool and protected from the sun (pants and long-sleeved shirt recommended). Make sure to bring a bottle of water.
